Vintage double 6.2-9.3mm Akoya saltwater pearl, 9ct white gold, amethyst & diamond necklace
A stunning 47cm (18.5 inch) reconditioned vintage double strand white saltwater pearl necklace with an Edwardian style 9 carat white gold, amethyst and diamond pearl clasp (hallmarked with an anchor for Birmingham, N for 1987, 9 and 375 for 9 carat gold, makers mark JR). The longer strand is 19.5 inches and the strands nest perfectly together. The pearls are newly hand knotted between each pearl, onto double threaded white silk substitute.
The pearls are white AA++ quality Japanese Akoya pearls with a thick nacre, a radiant luster and rose and cream overtones. These cultured Akoya pearls are perfectly round. The clasp was originally for three strands is 11x12.5mm in size and is mounted with 18 approx. 1mm round white sparkly diamonds (approx. 0.1ct) and a flawless 7x8mm (approx. 1.5ct) excellent quality faceted oval amethyst.
